1. YES. Peer to Peer lending DOES work.
2. Peer to Peer lending IS a viable instrument for the unbanked all over the globe.
3. Whether collateralized or not, most people pay their debts, or at least want to.
4. Everyone has unforeseen circumstances.
5. It is a  profitable enterprise  for all involved as banking and P2P lending has proven.
6. Most people are honest to a certain degree, but when things do not go as they planned, many will think they don't owe you any longer, and that is not the rationale of a truly conscious being.  
Many people continually move their moral lines, and adjust their values to suit their convenience. I evolve mine, so they continually become more in line with consciousness. Most do not do that. Below you will see `defaults' happen in every part of the world. This list is verifiable, and current as of 12-15-15. These defaults occurred between August and December of 2015. If you are a borrower, you may not take it seriously. You may think bitcoin loans or fiat denominated loans are not real `value', so you ignore the loan. Well, if one lends you an ounce of gold, they would like to be repaid an ounce of gold. Just because you may think it a worthless piece of metal that can be dug from the ground, does not mean you no longer should repay the debt, or that your unforeseen circumstances, justifies theft. Because that's  exactly what it is,`theft'. Understand that. This list below is a fraction of defaulted loans occurring, on-line and around the world. It is a partial list, as many defaulters or scammers, or folks whether unable to repay or refuse to repay, will remove their photos and replace it with a bogus avatar. Below are pictures that have not been removed and have stayed attached to the borrowers loan. They may or may not be genuine, as one can put up a photo of anyone they choose and use it to garner a loan from a P2P platform. Some P2P platforms do not perform due diligence. The ones that do, will survive, create value for all parties, and continue to have viable enterprises. Those that don't, will have many borrowers, but no lenders, which will prove to be futile endeavor. Your due diligence is always a prerequisite to lending to borrowers on these platforms, or lending value to anyone. These 50 or 60 borrowers who've defaulted are  only a fraction of the thousands of scams that are occurring, and only a fraction of the thousands of other lenders who may or may not continue to lend thier capital without collateral. You want numbers. Okay. These defaults total the amount of  849.127 bitcoins. At $250.00 USD per bitcoin that is $212,281.75 USD. Todays price of $425.00 USD per BTC, amounts to  $360,878.97 USD. That's one lending platform. That amount may be tens of thousands more bitcoins & dollars than the numbers presented here. Yes, 4 1/2 months lending, 60 borrowers and losses amount to more than 1/3 of a million dollars US. All this would make you think that the question about P2P lending would be NO, but then how would we help free each other from the control system that enslaves us all?
